Bollywood films are making huge business these days with
their extensive marketing strategies and content-driven scripts. As the year
2015 is wrapping with successful box-office films ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and ‘Dilwale’,
let’s make out the list of films that entered into 100 crore club:
Bajirao Mastani
Bajirao Mastani is a Bollywood romantic action
packed thriller period film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film stars
the talented trio – Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra. The
plot of the film is based on the love story of Mastani, the second wife of
Maratha Peshwa Bajirao I. The show-man film-maker, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has
magnificently balanced action with a bundle of emotions. And the dialogues of
this magnum opus are just superb like this one by Deepika Padukone:
“Kiski
talwar par sar rakhu ye bata de muje, ishq karna khata hai to saja de muje”
The film did an overall business of 146 crore
in 10 days and growing more day by day.
Dilwale
Dilwale is a Bollywood film directed by Rohit
Shetty, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon. The king
of romance is back with his most beloved actress to sizzle the silver screen.
The iconic pair of SRK and Kajol refreshes the memory of their 1995 film
‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’. The film is doing great with an overall
box-office business of 234 crore.

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo
Bollywood’s Prem made his comeback on the
festive eve of Diwali 2015 to rock the floor. Yes, I am talking about super
star Salman Khan who played the lead role in Sooraj Barjatya’s ‘Prem Ratan Dhan
Payo’. The film featured Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor in the lead roles coupled
with Anupam Kher, Swara Bhaskar, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Armaan Kohli in other
pivotal roles. This was the fourth time that Salman collaborated with Sooraj
after their earlier super hit flicks ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun!’
and ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’. With a budget of 110 crore, the film has made a
whopping 431 crore till now.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan
Director Kabir Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan
became the top Bollywood grosser film of the year 2015. Salman Khan in the role
of sweet and cute Pawan Kumar Chaturvedi aka Bajrangi won million of hearts by
his teaser dialogue: “Hum Bajrangbali ke
bhakt hain…mar jayenge lekin jhoot nahi bolenge”. The film made a hard
hitting box office collection of 626 crore.
Baahubali
S. S. Rajamouli is the maker of this magnum
opus film which made a whopping 600 crore at the box-office. The film is a
fictional story of two brothers who fight for an ancient kingdom of India. The
film stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah and Anushka Shetty in main roles.
The film is also one of the most visually impressive films of India, truly a
masterpiece from the show-man Rajamouli.
ABCD 2
Choreographer-turned-director Remo D’Souza is
the man behind this 3D dance film starring, Prabhu Deva, Varun Dhavan and
Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles. The film is a sequel to its 2013 film ABCD: Any
Body Can Dance. ABCD 2 made 157 crore at box office and made its entry into the
100 crore club.
Tanu Weds Manu Returns
Anand L. Rai once again came with the sequel
of his 2011 hit film ‘Tanu Weds Manu’. Although the star cast is same in both
the films, the plot is very different – whereas, the prequel deals with
pre-marital problems, the sequel portrays conflicts and clashes in marital
life. Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan pair sizzled the silver screen with teaser
dialogues like “Adrak ho gaya hai yeh
aadmi, kahin se bhi badh raha hai!” The film did an overall business of 243
crores at the box office.
