Star Wars is an American epic space warfare
franchise based on a film series created by George Lucas. The film series
showcases a far, far away galaxy and depicts adventures and battles between
good and evil. The first film in the series ‘Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope’ was
released in 1977, followed by two successful sequels ‘The Empire Strikes Back’
and ‘Return of the Jedi’ released in 1980 and 1983 respectively. These three
films comprise of the original Star Wars trilogy. Moreover, a prequel trilogy was
also released later between 1999 and 2005.
The effects in the film series were really so
amazing, so innovative and ahead of their time that the movie’s terrific
success was ensured for sure. Also another trilogy is in the pipeline announced
by the new acquirer, The Walt Disney Company. The first film of this trilogy
‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ is going to release on Dec. 18th

Star Wars Episode IV: A New
Hope (1977)
The first release in the Star Wars epic
series is directed by George Lucas, starring Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie
Fisher and Alec Guinness in lead roles. The story of the film portrays Luke
Skywalker, who joins forces with a Jedi Knight, an overconfident pilot and two
Droids to save the universe from the oppressive Empire’s world-destroying
battle –station. The film showcases a whole new universe with unusual
creatures, different lifestyles and diverse history and drops the viewers in
the core of an intergalactic war between an empire and a rebellion.
Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
The spellbinding action film series continues
its legacy with the Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back which retains the same
characters and same sense of fun. The film has tighter storyline this time with
much deeper character development. The Rebellion has destroyed Death Star
giving a huge blow to the power of the Empire.
Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (1983)
Episode VI: Return of the Jedi is directed by
Richard Marquand, showing a lot of action sequences as the final confrontation between
the Rebellion and the Emperor. This completes the outstanding trilogy and redefines
the cinematic experience by the makers of the series.
Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999)
Chronologically the first in the Star Wars
series, Episode I: The Phantom Menace was released after 22 years of the
original Star Wars film. The film stars an ensemble cast which includes Liam
Neeson, Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Jake Lloyd, Ian McDiarmid and Frank Oz.
The film again gives a chance to indulge the viewers in the Star Wars magical
universe.
Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002)
The second installment of the Star Wars
prequel trilogy is directed by the all-time greatest story-teller George Lucas.
The action and sci-fi film is an all-time entertainer with lots of action,
adventure, romance and special effects.
Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005)
The third and the last installment of the
prequel trilogy ‘Episode III: Revenge of the Sith’ is directed by George Lucas,
starring Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Hayden Christensen, Ian McDiarmid,
Kenny Baker and Frank Oz. The film works as a bridge that connects it to the
old and original Star Wars trilogy.
Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2015)
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the upcoming
film in the series of the epic space warfare, directed by ‘Star Trek’ fame J.
J. Abrams. The seventh installment of the epic series stars an ensemble cast
which includes Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy
Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Anthony Daniels and Peter Mayhew. The epic story is going
to continue for years giving its fans the real cinematic experience.
