Must Watch World Movies: The Shawshank Redemption (1994)

The world of cinema creates magic in one’s life and makes one’s inner soul cheerful. There are times when a film didn’t do well on the Box Office but is really a must watch. I want to introduce you with all these superbly crafted films that are having their own beauty and also a must watch tag:
The Shawshank Redemption is an American drama film directed by Frank Darabont. The star cast of the film includes Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman in lead roles. The film is loosely based on Stephen King’s novella Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption. The story of the film portrays Andy Dufrense, a banker by profession who is given life sentence in Shawshank State Prison for killing his wife and her lover, although he claimed for innocence.

Further, the beauty of the character Dufrense serving a life sentence, with no hope for parole is that he exists in the prison only in looks keeping him detached from the dingy walls around him. Also, his ability of keeping hope helped him gaining of admiration from his fellow colleagues.
Apparently, with such strong film base, the thoroughly shaped screenplay made the way for film’s success (not on box office, but received outstanding reviews from critics). Apart from the lead roles played by Tom Robbins and Morgan Freeman, the ensemble supporting star cast also performed superbly and made the characters as being real. Going for more about the array of artists, the veteran actor James Whitmore in the role of Brooks Hatlen who was shown institutionalized in the prison touches our heart the most.

Moreover, the best part of the film is to show the human desires, like hope and freedom in detail. Also these themes are so well woven into the plot that it best connects the viewers in the story. The film also presents a different Hollywood which is known more for its sci-fi genre. Here, we see a masterpiece of real art that delivers a deep breath of fresh air for everyone who wants to connect with the world around him.
