Shaandaar (2015)
Shaandaar is a recently released Bollywood
romcom film directed by Vikas Bahl. The film stars Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt
in the main roles, coupled with Pankaj Kapur and Sanjay Kapoor in supporting
roles. The story of the film is based on destination wedding and it is produced
by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane. The movie showcases Shahid Kapoor
as Joginder who plays the role of a wedding planner and performs the act with
much maturity and poise. The story of the film goes on like this: Joginder is a
wedding planner who is planning the marriage of Alia’s elder sister, but then
there is a twist in the tale…
Band Baaja Baaraat (2010)
Band Baaja Baaraat is a refreshing Bollywood
romcom film directed by debutant Maneesh Sharma, starring the hot and sizzling
Ranveer-Anushka pair. The film is based on the two very young and energetic
wedding planners falling in love with each other. This film also showcases the
carving of middle-class youth to start their own business and become an
entrepreneur. Band Baaja Baaraat is an extraordinary film having a very
original and real storyline, along with an attached love story.
3 Idiots (2009)
3 Idiots is a comedy drama film directed by
Rajkumar Hirani, starring super star Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor along with
Sharman Joshi, R. Madhavan, Parikshit Sahni, and Boman Irani. The film is a gem
which reveals the Indian education system by large and the shortcomings along
with the idea to get over it. Another interesting point which I would like to
share is the part when Kareena as Priya was taken from her wedding place by
Sharman and Madhvan as Raju and Farhan to Aamir’s place. The place of wedding shoot
was Woodville Palace Hotel in Shimla. The spot along with its scenic view, is
superb for destination weddings.

Wedding Pullav is a recently released Bollywood
romcom directed by Binod Pradhan. The star cast of the film includes debutant
Kannada actor Diganath, Anushka Ranjan and Karan Grover. The story of the film
is based on the theme of destination wedding in which the event is going to
happen in a grand hotel situated on the sea-shores of a foreign land i.e. Thailand and the wedding
is fixed for not one but two couples.
Monsoon Wedding (2001)
Monsoon Wedding presents a fat Indian traditional Punjabi wedding in the
capital city Delhi. The film is directed by Mira Nair and stars Naseeruddin
Shah, Lillete Dubey, Shefali Shah, Vasundhara Das and Vijay Raaz. The movie is
full of different characters which showcases a large Indian family stretched all
over the world reunites for the wedding event.
