Salman Khan Rejected Top 5 Bollywood Blockbusters Including DDLJ

Bollywood super star Salman Khan has given numerous super hits to the Indian film industry but the interesting part of the tale is that the fitness freak actor has also rejected a lot of films including DDLJ which later became major hits worldwide. A lot of these rejected films by Salman are done by Bollywood King Khan aka Shah Rukh Khan.


Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995)
The film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge popularized as DDLJ is directed by Aditya Chopra under the production of Yash Raj Films. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in the lead roles. Sharukh played the role of Raj Malhotra which was earlier offered to Salman, who rejected the film due to some unknown reasons. The film broke all the records and became a major hit.

Baazigar (1993)
Baazigar is a crime thriller film directed by Abbas-Mustan. The role of protagonist with negative shade was earlier offered to Salman Khan who rejected the film. It was Bollywood super star Shah Rukh Khan’s breakthrough role as antihero and the film proved to be a blockbuster hit.

Josh (2000)
Josh is a Bollywood action crime film directed by Mansoor Khan. The role of Max was earlier offered to Salman but due to the unavailability of dates, the role was later given to ShahRukh Khan and the film was a major success. Rumors were also there that Salman did not want to do a role of Aishwarya’s brother and that’s why he rejected the film.


Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003)
Kal Ho Naa Ho is a Bollywood romcom drama film directed by debutant Nikhil Advani under the Dharma Productions. Earlier Salman Khan was offered Rohit Patel’s role who rejected the film due to cold war between Shah Rukh Khan and him. Later, Saif Ali Khan did the role and the film became a blockbuster hit.


Chak De! India (2007)

Chak De! India is a Bollywood sports film directed by Shimit Amin under the production of Yash Raj Films. The role of Kabir Khan as Hockey coach was basically written for Salman Khan but due to dates’ problem Salman was not able to do the film. Later, Shah Rukh Khan performed the role magnificently and won the Filmfare Award for the Best Actor.
